Vassalboro stretches from the east bank of the Kennebec River to the west shore of China Lake. It is the home of farmers, woodsmen, and commuters to Waterville and Augusta. Settled in 1760 and incorporated in 1774, Vassalboro, is located on Routes 32 and 201. 

Vassalboro has frontage on a major river (the Kennebec) and on four lakes and ponds and, as such, has outstanding recreational opportunities. It is also home to Duratherm Window Corporation and Kennebec Bean Company, Inc. and has some of the larger dairy farms in the Central Maine area.
